I fished the Galveston Hall of Fame Tournament for the first time this year. My friend Cody and I ran off shore for the day to see if we could find any trophy fish for the tournament. At our second stop we found a nice school of ling and caught the largest out of it. It weighed 48 lbs. The largest ling in the tournament at the time was 35 lbs, so we knew we were leading at that point. We decided to check out one more spot before we headed for the scales. When we pulled up to the next spot, a huge school of ling came up to the boat. There were around 20 big ling ranging from 30 to 80 lbs. We caught 5 and and kept 3. The two we through back were over 40 lbs. We ended up with a 40# 45# 48# and a 83# ling for the day. The 83 # ling took first place in the tournament
